I suggest this item for any beginners. The line gets tangled once you reel it in. It doesn’t lock. The only thing I like about this product it has a complete set that you need to go fishing. Just basic items.Bought this for part of my son’s 5th grade graduation present. He has been getting into fishing more and more lately. Used it twice and it’s falling apart. The handle doesn’t stay tight and the silver rings are sliding up and down now, not staying in place where they should be. I did read reviews but they were mixed. I wish I would of listened to the bad reviews and got him a better one.Love how light it is...wish it came with single hooksI got this for hiking and to carry two extra telescoping poles. It worked perfectly. I moved the tackle to a better encasement which fit in the front pocket well. I would expect to pull in any beats with this since the reel is primarily plastic.The reel is so so and the rod is stuck open.Good for the price.This is a good fishing rod. Fits in a bag pack. I keep it in my car. Does not take any space at all. Quality cours be better but gets the job done.Fit in my saddlebags and worked just fine on my 3 day camping trip. Had a couple nice ones on the line and the rod held up fine.Bought this to try and get back out fishing again. Carrying a bit kit around is great but if you have a more casual approach to fishing this is great. It's just basically everything you need except for bait. It all packs away neatly in a carry bag. There is enough space in the bag to add a few more things if you need.The rod is very lightweight and extends without any issue. The fishing line included is adequate for your average river fish but you'd need to upgrade if you fish for monsters.It comes with a guard to sheild the eyelets from damage while in transit. All in all its a nice set to be getting on with.I bought 4 of these, so our family could get into sea fishing. (Mainly mackerel and foul catching seaweed).Being a retractable rod is a great idea, with bag means an easy drop into the boot of a car or rucksack for walks/cycling.The rod comes with a load of hooks and gear. To be honest I'd already bought some favoured spinners and so didn't use any of this.The rod's are great for mackerel and are a good way of getting 1st timers involved. I'd doubt their suitability for bigger fish, but we have had some great fun this summer with these!Having bought this as an Amazon suggestion, I was very excited to have received it! That's where my excitement ended, I took the rod out of the packaging fitted the reel and proceeded to start fishing, upon my 4th cast the tip of the rod snapped and has left me on holiday with no other means to fish!! Thanks Amazon for recommending such a poor piece of equipment and thanks Lixada for taking my money!! Si should have just sent you a blank cheque to rob me further. Very poor ewuipment, not fit for purpose! I would expect either a refund or a replacement item in the next 7days.This item is the most cheaply made equipment I've ever played my eyes on . The rod is a pound shop special. The reel wow worst thing I've ever held . All items that come with are no use just Chinese rubbish you be better of with a garden Caine and some cotton. Tried to return this product to a whole bunch of questions told them the reel had jammed and I dont want any of this there reply was we will send you replacement parts .. it jammed straight away so will the other one you send ... STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCTI have had a variety of tele-rods , all bought after viewing them .in the store .Most were at least half the price of this one and all have proved better value . The rod itself is extremely light- weight , the only good feature being the folding handle on the reel . The line will probably improve with use but seems too eager to curl up on itself when cast. The carrying case is good . The extras supplied with the rod have not been used and , to be honest , some of them I would not know how to use . To put it in perspective , I am not an experience angler , having only taken it up for the grandchildren, but I am disappointed with the overall package and would not recommend it .
