One of my first catches on this rod was with a 5-6 lb bass that ate a live bluegill. I have 8 lb line on the reel which seems like the perfect size for the reel. No problems so far with the rod or the reel.I love the telescopic properties of the rod as it allows me to stuff it in my backpack and use my bike to get to different spots. It’s not much effort to extend it or contact it. The handle on the reel has a very convenient button that allows it to fold down making it a little more portableThis is a great rod for its price. If you're one to travel around, see body of water, and get the urge to fish for an hour or two, then this rod is for you.Pros:- compact; pretty durable; not too expensive; easy to useCons:- limited to using smaller lines due to the spool it comes with. Don't recommend trying to reel in a 25lb alligator gar with this...Great rod and reel. I do not have much storage space so the telescopic feature for me was really cool. The reel is very smooth and functions great. Highly recommend.Love the product and how strong it is.It's compact, light weight and easy to pack in my luggage as I travel. I have used the setup three times and it seem to be holding up. It has been with me on 4 trips now and made ot through TSA checking my luggage alone with handlers. No signs of damage yet.Both rod and reel are very nice but they really don't go together as a combo: the feel is unbalanced because the reel weighs almost twice that of the rod.The rod lasted less then 2 week-ends of fishing.Good as a toy or to learn how to fish for beginners, not more.The reel and the lures were ok.P.S.The seller contacted me and proceeded with a partial refund.They are very honest.I purchased this as a birthday gift for my son, he absolutely loved it!! He said it is easy to put toand take apart. He loves that it comes in its own case and is easy to store in his car. It arrived on time. Over all I would recommend this product!Disappointed after the good reviews on this rod. Was due to return the item due to rocking reel seat as well as metal scratching the rod every time it was extended for use. Only used a handful of times. Rod snapped whilst attempting to lift a 3lb ish pollack onto the rocks during some LRF. Unfortunately couldn’t retrieve the fish or rod due to deep water and ended up cutting line which is not ideal for the hooked fish. I paid approx £90 for this rod. I also purchased the smaller 7-24g rod which seems far superior built with an improved reel seat “plussino bronze warrior” which I’m very happy with. Amazon return process started-just need to get the time off work to post it back...I liked the quality and I found it fantastical also easy for carrying.This rod seemed nice, but as soon as i opened it I knew it was not a good purchase for me. The rod feels very cheap and light. I dont trust that it wont snap on me. The reel on the other hand is really smooth and very well built (one of the nicest reels if tried). I wish i could have bought the reel on its own.What's not to like about this solution?Reel feels awesome, works better than previously owned reels experienced...Rod is sturdy and light, after the cast no issues found!Case stores rod/reel/tackle to save room and protect your gear!!!HANDS DOWN 5*'s!!!!HAD 1 SMALL ISSUE, CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AMAZING :)))
