Good for shorter casting and boat fishing light duty.Not good for most of the fish in Oregon. Pole breaks easily with weight.Excelente me encanto.I bought this as a gift for my buddy. We do a lot of backpacking together and I'm sick of seeing him carry a regular pole on his back and having it get snagged on tree's etc on the trails. It can slow us down in heavily wooded areas.I have a telescoping rod/reel combo that I love although I didn't want to spend the $70 mine cost. So I bought the $30 (at the time) from SupsShops.I got this last week. Walked down to the lake yesterday and gave it a try. Here are my thoughts.Pro's- Rod is great. Collapses easy, when extended everything sticks in place and no eyelets moving around. It also has a nice feel and weight to it. I really like that the rod comes with its own carrying case so you don't need to use the huge pack they give you. Finally, I like the rod has a tip cover when collapsed that protects the eyes. Great for stuffing in a backpack!Con's- The reel is not great. It is 90% plastic so I think if you drop it once it's game over. I would not trust this reel for more than sunfish, crappies and the occasional small bass. Perfect for parents wanting to introduce a kid to fishing.OverviewIn my opinion, you are essentially buying a really nice $30 collapsing rod. If you have other reels, you will probably want to swap out and use one of those instead. The plastics they throw in are a nice bonus.I am giving this 5 stars because I was looking more for the rod than the reel. The quality of it is as nice as my $70 dollar kit. If you are looking for a nice collapsible rod, I would highly recommend!The eyelets popped off on the first day. The real sucks as well the drag is virtually useless.Perfect for a first fish pole for a 10 year old. He had used hand-me-down poles with closed reel before and wanted his own open reel. Very portable with lots of room for lures etc. He loves that the pole is collapsible.The fact that it fits in my glove box it's very portable Light weight Works very wellDid the trick. Bought it as a good value for my sons’ newest hobby. They loved it. Easy to use, and carry with you. Pole and case are light weight and made well. One of them used it so much they did break part of the reel. Not a manufacturer issue, a new fisher issue. Good purchase for beginners to semi experienced fisherman.Ligne qui ne vaut pas chère,les ollets n'était pas colle pour la plus part.mais par contre j'aime le p'tit forma rétracte et son étuit.Just horrible, lasted about an hour when the reel came flying off the rod and into the deep water off my boat. After retrieving the line by hand. We could not be bothered to try and put it all back together for it to happen again. Not worth the money. Absolute garbage.
