It very strong magnetMy husband loves it. He decided he wanted to try magnet fishing. It's exciting to see the things he has pulled out of the water.I would be utterly amazed if this magnet could hang onto something that weighed 760 pounds. Being that the attachment is on the side, I think 15-20 pounds is much more realistic given the tendency for a magnet to slide off an object when pulled sideways. Besides that, you’re not going to drag 700 pounds of anything out of a body of water unless you use your vehicle to do so, and good luck with that. But for the price it’s a decent enough little magnet, and it’s probably worth the price. Will it pull up an old screwdriver, handgun, or car wheel? Sure. But for 760 pounds you’re gonna need a diver, the proper rigging, and a crane.To state it has a 1000lb pull is a bit deceiving. Its 500ish on each side. But all in all its not a bad stater magnet.Ok product but kept coming off of the hookWe are returning these. I ordered two thinking we would use them to talk about the power of natural laws and how intense the pull is. - They are so powerful! We can't break them apart! In reviewing videos now about them, I see that we are blessed that no one was hurt in our quick little play with them - they could have really hurt one of us! Now we can't break them apart at all! This is NOT what we expected or wanted!Nice size and very strongI just got the “400 lbs” varient of this magnet today and decided to test it out in my pool. First things first, this magnet can only lift 15lbs max on dry land and 10lbs under water if you keep a steady hand (tested with disk shaped gym weights). Since this is a double sided magnet, it will only pick up things that are directly underneath it, making it hard to fish with on flat bottoms, but will catch more things and not get stuck as often as a standard single sided magnet. From my testing, it will stick to anything large within roughly 3” of it and anything small within 1-2” of it. Not too good, and definitely not as advertised. I still like the magnet since it does the job when using it to find fishing lures, but if you are trying to find guns and loaded safes, this will not do the job, not even close. What I like the most about this magnet is its weight. It is heavy enough to throw pretty far. I rated it 3 stars because it does the job for light duty fishing and would be a good beginner magnet. I was forced to get the 400 lbs magnet because the 600 lbs magnet became unavailable... Generally, if you are looking for a good fishing magnet that works as advertised, Amazon is not the place. I am sure there is better out there.
