Absolutely exceeded my expectations. The fact that it comes in different colors was great because my son loves yellow, which was a big factor in picking this pole, but I was not disappointed. It was very easy to set up and use. My son just turned 5 and had no problems casting or reeling in fish. Although he didn’t catch any trophy fish, the pole had no problems with 2-4 lb bass that put up a good fight. We will be buying another one to leave at my in laws house, highly recommend!!We're vacationing in Florida and my son (5) and daughter (8) wanted to "go fishing". I knew that they'd have all the patience of 5 minutes, but wanted to give them something of the experience anyways. I looked for a set that would be age-appropriate and inexpensive.When I was a kid we had those terrible bamboo rods. Well let me tell you... we've come a long way. These set is excellent... you'll be shocked by how much you get for your money. The kid inside me is jealous that I didn't have anything like this.The entire set is very light... nearly weightless. My son (5) had no trouble carrying this a distance. He put it on like a backpack even though it's not designed as such.The rod is pretty much ready to go. All you need to do is position the reel on it and hand tighten this piece that screws over it. You'll only need to do this once and then you can just leave it on forever (I'm not sure why they don't just ship it already on). Don't over-tighten or it looks like you might damage it. Then, you simply thread the line through the loops and attach a hook and/or other gear.The rod itself is excellent. It's easy to telescope it in/out and it mostly stays put while fishing. The rod is much longer than you'd expect, but still fine for a child. It's lightweight, and otherwise acts as a fishing rod should. Frankly, if the kids weren't with me there's no reason I couldn't use this rod as an adult (I'm not clear on how large a fish it could handle though and the line likely isn't super high strength). It's easy to cast and reel and the handle is foam padded for small hands.The tackle box comes with a bunch of hooks and fake lures, some weights and a small variety of other accessories. It also, more importantly, comes with some safety scissors which you'll need. I feel like most of this stuff young kids won't have any idea what to do with (some of it I had no idea what to do with... the bells?). But overall this tackle box is fine. The one exception is the standard red/white bobber which is completely useless... it won't even hold a single hook and lure up but will get dragged under such that you cannot see where your line is.The one thing they could have done better is an instruction guide for the children on how to setup the line... which lures, weights, bobbers, etc. to use in what situations and how to attach them. What normal setups should look like. I suppose they assume the parents will be knowledgeable and do such.Overall this is a great buy for young children, and the price is right.--- Pros ---- Great quality and appearance- Fast and easy 1-minute setup- Perfect for children, containing everything they need- Casts and reels easily. The rod works well.--- Cons ---- Should probably have included line setup instructions for children- Bobber is too weakI bought this for my 7 year old niece’s birthday and was blown away at how awesome it is! It’s light weight, super portable and well made. I always thought these were gimmicky, but I was wrong! It was so good I bought the adult version to replace my expensive backpacking fishing pole. Keep in mind the price, i will have a few things to say:1. The rod base is grippy with a firm foam grip. Also has a small trigger finger nub to keep the rod firmly gripped when casting. This is significant because for kids, it's easy to accidentally let go and throw the rod into the water. Other "kids" rods i have purchased dont have a grippy base and its immediately noticeable. using foam also keeps base warm to hold in a cool day -- other rods i've used have plastic base and it gets cold for kids hands.2. The reel bracket does NOT come loose after a half day of fishing. Glad. I have two other rods where after only a few casts, the darn bracket keeps coming loose. I have to loctite them in. This one keeps the reel secure after a good 3 hours of fishing with my kid.3. the travel bag it comes with ACTUALLY FITS the fully assembled rod. May be minor point but i never understood why any company would ship a bag that doesnt fit the product properly. (my two other rods come with bags that are too small!!!)4. I recommend not using the line that comes with the kit. It's horribly cheap and breaks easily. Buy better line.The for price, this little kit has everything a kid needs to get fishin' . It's a fairly robust product and the push button reel makes things super simple for kids to use. Of course this is really just a toy ... just good for little pond fishing moments but keeps kids happy and engaged while you fish.Eine super Angelset, alles was man braucht um den jüngsten das angeln beizubringen.Die Angel an sich ist in guter Qualität und stabil. Nur bei dem Zubehör müsste man ein paar Sachen austauschen ( die Pose) aber das meiste kann man gut gebrauchen. Alles in einem sorgt das Set für großen angelspaß.Schon nach 2 Stunden Gebrauch zog die Rolle die Schnur nicht mehr ein. Eine große Enttäuschung für meinen Sohn, der sich die Angel extra für den Sommerurlaub zusammengespart hat.Update: wir haben die Angel zum 2. Mal bestellt. Das gleiche Problem. Absoluter Schrott!Bought this to go at a friends house which happens to be within walking distance to a dock where we can fish. Brought this fishing pole so our kids could try fishing. When we got there, we tried and it simply didn't work. Even people who fish their whole life tried to make it work and nothing would make it work.On top of it, because we went there more than 1 month after I bought the fishing pole, we can't return it.Don't buy this.komplette Enttäuschung das ding... spule verhäddert sich ständig, auswerfen unmöglich. das einzige was man machen kann damit is bremse aufmachen und ins wasser direkt vor einem ablassen, angeln ist das für mich aber nicht. leider eine Geldverschwendung :(
